Participants and legislators gathered for the Youth Development and Cross-Border Career Roundtable.

The Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea recently hosted the Youth Development & Cross-Border Career Roundtable, bringing together members of our Young Professional Network, guests from diverse industries, and visiting legislators for an open exchange on youth development and cross-border opportunities.

The afternoon session focused on Taiwan's youth policy and future workforce development. Discussions explored the strengths and challenges of Taiwan’s industrial landscape, from its globally leading semiconductor sector to structural gaps that have led more young professionals to pursue opportunities abroad in fields such as media, finance, and AI. Participants also exchanged views on the importance of English proficiency and global exposure, as well as career pathways between Taiwan and Korea, including how the lack of bilateral pension coordination can affect cross-border mobility.

We were honored to have legislators Huang, Chien-Pin, Hsu, Chiao-Hsin, Liao, Hsien-Hsiang, Liao, Wei-Hsiang, Lo, Chih-Chiang, and Lo, Ting-Wei join the discussion and engage with participants.

The dialogue continued over a chamber dinner at Yeomong, a well-loved venue in our community, where additional members joined to connect and exchange perspectives.

The Chamber remains committed to fostering platforms that connect members, support the next generation of talent, and encourage constructive dialogue between the business community and public sector.
